This is an exceptional opportunity to serve as the key financial administrator and member of the executive leadership team for one of the top academic medical centers in the country. The new CFO will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and is responsible for all financial planning functions for UCI Health including admissions and registration, controller services, decision support and budget, health information management, patient financial services and revenue cycle. The CFO works in close collaboration with the CEO, Executive Management team, Directors, Department Chairs and Chief Administrative Officers on policy and guidelines to achieve financial goals and objectives and to help ensure successful implementation of UCI Health's strategic plan. The next CFO will be expected to align all financial functions and decision support with quality patient care, service excellence and efficient and optimal performance outcomes.
Candidates should possess senior leadership experience, a strong record of achievement, and a history of successfully working in a complex, urban, academic healthcare organization within an ever-changing landscape of increased competition. The next CFO should have a deep understanding of changing healthcare reimbursement structures, consolidating markets, shifting alliances and increasing regulatory oversight. Experience with capital projects will be important as UC Irvine Health breaks ground on a new hospital on the UC Irvine campus. The CFO will support the development and implementation of the goals and objectives of the organization with a focus on strong financial performance. The incoming CFO will be expected to collaborate with the CEO as a key member of his leadership team and serve as a highly visible executive with the political dexterity to operate in a highly complex, matrixed organizational structure. The CFO should be strategically oriented, performance driven, responsive and innovative with strong communication, leadership and management skills. The CFO should be a motivating and inspiring leader, ultimately improving UCI Health's competitive position.
