WittKieffer is assisting the University of Florida Health (UF Health) in the recruitment of candidates for their inaugural enterprise wide System Vice President, Managed Care (SVP, MC). UF Health is the third largest health system in FL and includes the academic enterprise of UF and its health colleges, research institutes and centers, as well as the flagship academic medical center, community hospitals, physician practices and ambulatory network. UF Health is headquartered in Gainesville, Florida.
With operations in three regions within Florida, Gainesville, Jacksonville and Central Florida, the SVP, MC will develop a system wide approach for innovative relationships and arrangements with the payers in their respective markets. The SVP, MC will provide entrepreneurial leadership for the enterprise on its journey toward value-base contracting and population health management. Appreciating each specific market's needs, the SVP, MC will support the development of an overall system approach and set of principles that can be used in alternative reimbursement methodologies and contracting. Through expertise, innovation, leadership and collaboration with payers, the SVP, MC will meet the goals of optimizing contract performance and maximizing reimbursement.
As part of a dynamic system leadership team, the System Vice President, Managed Care is the most senior enterprise leader charged with setting the strategy for managed care and payer relationships across all of UF Health. The SVP will report to the office of the Senior Vice President of Health Affairs, David Nelson, MD, through James Kelly, the Chief Financial Officer.
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree; an advanced degree is strongly preferred. Candidates will have an outstanding record of achievement with at least ten years of relevant senior management contracting experience in an Academic Medical Center, health system or health plan environment that is recognized for innovative payer contracting including value based models that create long term "win-win" partnerships. Most importantly, candidates will be a transparent and collaborative leader, have a passion for quality healthcare, and thrive on working in a complex, mission driven organization.
