WittKieffer has been retained by Navicent Health, located in Macon, GA, to identify the system's next President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Navicent Health is a regional health system with $986 million in net revenues and more than 1,000 beds. Navicent Health is comprised of five acute care hospitals including The Medical Center, which is a 637 bed Level I Trauma Center and a three-time Magnet Designated hospital. The system has strong partnerships throughout the region and serves as the primary teaching hospital for the Mercer University School of Medicine.
In January 2019, Navicent Health entered into a strategic combination/partnership in the form of a member substitution with Atrium Health. The partnership allows Navicent Health to be a hub for Atrium Health in Central and South Georgia, while also providing Navicent Health access to resources in order to continue providing advanced, high quality health care to the community.
Reporting directly to Eugene Woods, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Atrium Health with accountability to the Navicent Health and Atrium Health Board of Directors, the CEO will develop a long-term vision and strategy for Navicent Health to position the system for strategic growth and success. The CEO will partner closely with the Executive and Strategic Committee of Atrium Health and the Navicent Health Board of Directors to ensure alignment on the strategic priorities, advance the integration activities related to the strategic combination, and implement new technology platforms. The CEO will be a collaborative leader and serve as a mentor to the Navicent Health Leadership team. S/he will be a forward thinker and identify opportunities for Navicent Health to continue its growth in the region through strategic combinations and partnerships.
Candidates should have extensive executive leadership experience within a hospital or integrated health system. Experience working in a highly complex, matrixed health system is preferred. The next President & CEO will be a values-driven leader with an unwavering level of integrity and a track record of success implementing strategic growth and achieving strong financial, operational and quality performance. S/he should be viewed as a highly effective communicator and trusted relationship builder. The President & CEO must be a system thinker and understand the importance of balancing local and enterprise interests. Candidates should be viewed as a visible community leader and understand the importance of a health system to the local Macon community.
