Emerson Hospital, located in Concord, Massachusetts just 20 miles northwest of Boston, has partnered with WittKieffer to seek an experienced and dynamic executive to serve as the system's next Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). The CNO serves as a key member of the system's senior leadership team as the system continues to provide high-quality care to community. The position is a unique opportunity be a part of a strong leadership team and focus on leading nursing in the pursuit of clinical and service excellence while advancing the professional practice of nursing.

With 179 beds, nearly 1,600 employees and more than 300 physicians, Emerson has provides full-service patient care to over 300,000 people across a 25 town service area in a variety of inpatient and outpatient care settings. Emerson is known in area for tremendous nursing care and strong clinical affiliations with Boston's leading academic medical centers including Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham Women's and Children's Hospital that have led to world class care for their patients.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer of Emerson Hospital, Christine Schuster and Chief Operating Officer, Eric Statsny, the CNO will be in a pivotal role as the organization furthers their strong positioning in the market and surrounding areas. The CNO will be a strategic partner to the CEO, COO, physician leaders and other senior executives at Emerson and will have responsibility of day-to-day nursing operations. She/he will usher in a new era of nursing leadership, bringing best practices and innovative patient care initiatives to achieve higher performance in quality, patient safety, and engagement. The CNO will also be a mentor to nurse leaders in the organization and champion the development of nurses through supporting nursing education efforts to attract, retain, and grow top talent in today's competitive nursing labor landscape.
The ideal candidate will bring substantial progressive leadership experience leading nursing operations within an acute care facility and will have a Master's degree in nursing or a related field. The CNO will have a strong understanding finance and operational management as it relates to providing leading patient care and strong nursing performance, patient experience, quality, and patient safety metrics. This individual will be a skilled communicator, with demonstrated ability to lead through influence, achieve buy-in and work quickly and effectively while comfortably assimilating into the culture and leadership team of Emerson Hospital.
