Sinai Hospital of Baltimore has partnered with WittKieffer in the recruitment of a Vice President, Performance Excellence to serve as a deployed resource and a strategic advisor, proactively analyzing and collaboratively seeking out opportunities to improve a broad array of operational areas within the hospital. The emphasis for this position is advancing operational, clinical, and service excellence for areas that impact goals and performance for the hospital, particularly around patient throughput and experience. This Vice President will continually search for and identify ways in which to optimize performance, building out the internal competencies and creating a more rigorous approach throughout the hospital, focused on accountability and the appropriate stewardship of resources. The establishment of a culture of ownership, responsibility, and accountability will be a foundational element of this position.
The Vice President, Performance Excellence will manage and coordinate hospital-wide efforts to deliver value in the development, implementation, management, and reporting of service standards, performance/process improvements, expense management initiatives, and setting priorities for improvements that are aligned with ongoing strategic initiatives.
Candidates with a track record of success functioning as innovative, operational leaders from within integrated, progressive, complex regional or community health systems are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have demonstrated experience leading operational and strategic initiatives; developing and implementing approaches to improving quality of care, operational effectiveness and efficiency.
He/she must be comfortable in a matrixed management structure in which collaboration and working effectively across organizational structures is essential. The VP will be an effective problem-solver, influencer and the key “go to” resource for optimizing operational performance of support programs. He/she must excel at developing relationships, leading high performing teams and have a superb track record of developing collaborative partnerships with physician leaders. He/she will be expected to be an effective contributor to advancing employee engagement across all areas of responsibility and influence. Lastly, the VP must be viewed as an energetic resource, bridge builder, and a catalyst who effectively navigates within a complex healthcare setting to identify solutions, drive results, and effectively communicate operational priorities to others.
