Supervises and directs the activities of the Respiratory Care Departments (Respiratory, PFT lab, and Pulmonary Rehab) under the direction of the Director and the Medical Director. Completes established competencies for the position including completion of department SOX audits, Midas responses, and billing. Provider other related duties as assigned. Assists in implementing and monitoring department specific strategic actions and goals in order to achieve the overreaching mission, goals and objectives. Activity participates in departmental meetings.
Monitors the annual department operating and capital budgets
Supervises daily operations of assigned departments
Assists in selection of personnel for hire and promotion
Takes appropriate actions regarding counseling, disciplinary actions, demotion and termination
Assists in evaluating staff performance
Administers medication and treatments
Performs quality control on all respiratory equipment
Assists in training/orientation of students or new employees
Required: Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Degree program. Required: Bachelor's degree in health sciences, business or related field. Preferred: Masterï¿½s degree in health sciences, business or related field.
Five years of clinical experience with at least three years in a supervisory role. Strong ability to communicate in written and verbal fashion, and able to promote a team approach to patient care.
PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Must possess RCP or equivalent Massachusetts State License. BLS required, ACLS / PALS and NRP.
