As the Lead Dietary Director, this position will be based at our Abrazo West Campus, and will act as a resource and provide support to the Abrazo Phoenix Market.
The Market Director of Food and Nutrition Services ("FANS") provides overall planning, direction, evaluation and control of the FANS Departments for the Phoenix Market (comprising of 4 general acute care hospitals, 1 specialty cardiovascular hospital and several neighborhood hospitals), Accountable for achieving operational and financial goals. The Market Director provides guidance and motivation to Market Chef Managers, as well as other Managers and associates in the FANS departments across all locations. Manages all FANï¿½s Departments within a market to ensure compliance with government and agency standards. Embraces excellence in customer service both for internal and external customers; has excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; or Associates Degree plus three (5) years of directly related experience
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Five years of experience in food services management
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: One (1) to three (3) years of hospital or adult home/care experience preferred, depending upon formal degree or training. Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: ServSafe Certified and if applicable certification to meet requirements of Maricopa County Department of Health Services.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: Certified Dietary Manager certificate or Registered Dietitian or Certified Executive Chef.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Proficient computer skills to include; various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail and the Internet. Excellent financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills. Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Strong supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills
