The Baylor Scott & White Health and Wellness Center (HWC) at Juanita J. Craft Recreation Center offers comprehensive health and wellness services with an emphasis on access to care, health education, nutrition and physical activity. The President of the Health and Wellness Center (HWC) is accountable for the overall operations of the HWC, ensuring the provision of high-quality care, efficient operations, strong financial results, and unswerving commitment to the fulfillment of the HWCs mission and goals. The President ensures that the Centers strategic goals are aligned with its mission and approved by the Board and is accountable for plans and operations being established and executed within guidelines provided by Baylor Scott & White Health.
In partnership with the Medical Director, the President deploys organizational resources to accomplish these goals and support the long-term success of the HWC. The President provides overall leadership and direction to HWCs services, strategies, plans and operating performance and strategically manages the financial operations for HWC, driving efficient use of resources and innovative ways to raise revenues in support of the mission, vision, and values of the HWC.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Direct a collaborative strategic planning process for the HWC. Establish a strategic plan and develop short and long-range goals and objectives. - Direct the operational processes of HWC ensuring continuous improvement, operational excellence, and achievement of goals and objectives. Participate in periodic program evaluation against established organizational metrics. - Represent the HWC to the public, its constituencies, health care organizations, professional associations, purchasers of healthcare services and governmental agencies. - Establish and maintain a collaborative and effective working relationship with Board members, BSWH leadership, elected officials, physicians, and other volunteers and benefactors of the HWC. Through these relationships, build coalitions, implement community planning initiatives and advocacy. - Serve as the liaison officer and channel of communications for all official communications between Baylor Scott & White Health, the Board or any committees. - Manage and administer the HWC budget ensuring efficient operations and long-term sustainability. - Supervise the business affairs of the HWC and see that all funds are collected and expended to the advantage of its mission. Provide leadership and expertise to seek and evaluate new fundraising and business opportunities. - Regularly and as requested, submit to the Board or authorized committee reports showing the operations and financial activities of the HWC. - Develop a plan of organization of the personnel and others concerned with the operation of the HWC. Ensure the program, personnel and resources are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. - Responsible for the selection, evaluation, supervision, and discharge of all employees of the HWC. Ensure Board members, officers and employees are provided with access to continuing education. - Initiate or submit policies for consideration and be responsible for carrying out all established policies. - Oversee processes for the purchasing of all supplies and equipment in accordance with general purchasing policies. - See that all physical properties are kept in good state of repair and operating condition. - As requested, attend meetings of the Board and its committees. - Ensure the implementation of mechanisms to promote quality services and promote patient, employee and public safety within the HWC. - Perform additional duties as required in the best interest of the HWC.
PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE - A track record of effective leadership in an organization delivering community health services would be ideal. - Experience successfully managing a similarly-sized budget and team of employees. - An understanding of supply purchasing, human resources compliance, and financial management is preferred. - Experience working with a Board and with foundation activities is preferred, as is experience working within a large health system. - A mission-driven executive who has demonstrated the ability to capably plan and lead in a changing environment, applying new solutions where appropriate. The successful candidate will be nimble and collaborative, comfortable spearheading and influencing the adoption of change in a complex environment. - A proactive, strategic leader with a passion for enabling the provision of excellent care to all people. - Visible, approachable leader who is a transparent, proactive and an effective communicator. - Strong physician and professional staff relations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Masters degree in Business, Health Care Administration, or similar course of study. - An M.D. or D.O. degree is optional. - In addition, candidates must have an outstanding record of achievement that includes at least eight years of relevant experience. - A leader of the highest integrity, known for honesty, professionalism, and commitment to the delivery of community health services.
