Newton Medical Center, an award winning community hospital, is seeking to hire a Hospitalist Medical Director.

The Site Medical Director represents the medical leadership for the Site Hospital Medicine Program and its staff, patients, and the community. The performance of the Site Director serves as the example for all aspects of the delivery of medical services at the site. The Site Medical Director provides leadership and management for the Hospital Medicine program for AHS at the site level, to include physician recruitment, scheduling, supervision and coordinating care between physician and non-physician professional staff to meet patient needs and provide significant input into the preparation of a site budget. The Director works cooperatively and supportively with the members of the site medical staff to provide Hospital Medicine services for patients presenting for such care and works cooperatively and supportively with the other heads of diagnostic and therapeutic departments to ensure availability, quality, and effective use of AHS services.

• At least 5 years experience as a hospitalist
• Demonstrated knowledge and ability in the financial, managerial, and marketing aspects of Hospital Medicine
• Demonstrated ability to speak effectively on Hospital Medicine administrative and clinical matters to any audience, whether administrators, clinicians, or the lay public
• Long-term career interest in hospital medicine and medical administration
• Board certification and MOC in internal medicine with preference for a focused practice in Hospital Medicine
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
• Long-term interest in Atlantic Health System and Atlantic Medical Group
