Kootenai Health, located in Coeur d’Alene, ID, is hiring a Director of Finance and Provider Compensation! As our Director of Finance and Provider Compensation, you will: - Assists Controller in managing ambulatory division finances including strategic support and financial management
- Directs and assists in the preparation, monitoring, and management of ambulatory operating and capital budgets
- Responsible for financial and key performance reports, develop financial models and provide counsel on the financial impacts of actions for consideration as well as reporting on the financial results of operations
- Determines and documents fair market value and commercial reasonableness of all provider compensation models. Elevates any potential concerns to leadership and health system legal counsel
- Maintains complete and accurate documentation of all recommendations and final models
- Works with outside consultants to procure a Fair Market Value analysis for any compensation models that are outside of established Kootenai Health policy thresholds
- Develops compensation plans for each service line, map all compensation related program changes and ensure compensation model and implementation is transparent to Kootenai Health employed and contracted providers
- Recommends course of action after conducting analysis in partnership with legal, compliance, payroll, and human resources, as necessary
- Responsible for the development and administration of compensation strategies and plans designed to incentivize performance and align provider compensation with the goals of Kootenai Health
- Extracts and manages performance data (performance data, productivity, and quality as appropriate) as it relates to a provider’s compensation model to ensure payment practices are based on reliable data according to established provider contract arrangements
- Maintains working knowledge of physician compensation arrangements related to government regulations and collaborate with leadership and legal team to assure compensation models are compliant with those rules
- Facilitates bi-weekly Provider Compensation Committee meetings
- Facilitates the negotiation process for independent physician contracts – call coverage purchased service agreements and medical director relationships
- Manages and evaluates assigned staff, including hiring, training, and providing appropriate feedback on performance
To be successful in this role, you will need: - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field
- Five years of healthcare finance/accounting experience required
- Experience with increasing responsibility for provider compensation analysis, model design, and implementation required
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
