JOB SUMMARY
The Program Manager has four essential responsibilities in order to deliver products, within time and budget constraints, that align with business strategy and market needs:
- Optimize the Product Management team�s effectiveness
- Ensure that products are launched on time
- Help the team achieve the goal of meeting market needs
- Serve as a key resource for the team and stakeholders
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Others may be assigned.
Work closely with product management staff during each stage of the Product Development Life Cycle ensuring each key process step is completed
Ensure collaboration within the team and between product management, product development and user experience teams
Help build and strengthen the team, including taking the lead on Recruiting and Onboarding activities
Guide process improvement and change management; Facilitate retrospectives to assess what works well and what can be improved; actively help the organization apply lessons learned
Identify and suggest areas for improvement in processes along with possible solutions
Collect performance metrics (e.g., time tracking that can be used to appropriately capitalize hours and calculate return on investment)
Plan and manage the work of project teams to ensure that products are delivered on time and within budget
Monitor all projects that use Product Management and/or Development resources from inception through delivery
Drive progress; Act as scrum master when needed; be actively involved in release planning
Help the organization maintain focus on agreed upon priorities
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path; Track project milestones and deliverables
Anticipate, identify and resolve complex issues; Mitigate risk through contingency plans as appropriate
Ensure product enhancement ideas are submitted with information needed for evaluation
Facilitate the evaluation and prioritization of product enhancement ideas by market-facing product management staff
Coordinate with marketing team and senior leaders to conduct up to nine Solutions Advisory Group sessions per year
Observe the capability-aligned product management team; Make sure there's a conscious decision between temporarily deprioritized versus permanently forgotten
Prepare and communicate status reports, metrics dashboard, debrief findings, and analysis of expected versus actual ROI/LOE
Facilitate meetings with Roadmap Committee and Senior Leadership, including preparing content and aligning stakeholders in advance
Assist with allocating resources; Monitor group inboxes and distribute work appropriately
Effectively communicate at all levels; continually manage project expectations
Build a strong partnership with developers and quality assurance at all levels; Help the team build a strong partnership with all stakeholders KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
