The Fairbanks Memorial Hospital Emergency Services Department is a state of the art 27 bed facility that is the only designated Trauma Center within 350 miles, but what makes this department great is the team of adventurous nurses whoput people first,every day, even in subzero temperatures. The Fairbanks Memorial Hospital Emergency Department nursing team will provide evidence based care for patients with injuries and illnesses unique to the Alaskan climate from ATV and snow machine accidents to frost bite and hypothermia. This position plans and provides clinical support to patients and staff. Demonstrates clinical expertise of the assigned area. Provides leadership in clinical, financial, and personnel management within the department. About Fairbanks Memorial Hospital ER experience, ACLS, PALS highly preferred Position Available Full time: 40 hours/week, varied Night shifts Position will work two clinical shifts and two office days.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding of nursing and healthcare as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in nursing. BSN required for all individuals entering the role effective2/1/2016. BSN required for internal transfers/promotions within 6 months of transfer/promotion. Requires a current RN license in state of practice. BLS Required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice. Must possess at least 1-2 years of clinical experience relevant to patient population. Demonstrates knowledge and skills of specialty area. Requires critical thinking, communication, influence, decision-making, analytical, and flexibility skills to make optimal decisions based on multiple variables and desired outcomes. Requires the ability to balance clinical skills with supervisory authority. Must have the ability to consider the ultimate impact of decisions on the unit. Must have the ability to practice skills according to department and professional standards and quality requirements. Requires New Leader Experience certification within one year.
