Senior Director – Pharmacy

Overview:

The Senior Director of Pharmacy is responsible for pharmacy services provided at Children’s Mercy across two inpatient facilities, five retail pharmacies, multiple ambulatory clinic sites, and a specialty pharmacy location. The Senior Director leads collaborative efforts with inter-professional teams to achieve organizational and departmental strategic priorities and to improve patient care safety and quality. The Senior Director oversees all aspects of pharmacy performance and empowers others to improve operational and clinical processes related to medication management.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prioritizes and implements medication safety and performance improvement initiatives.
• Directs the human, financial, and pharmaceutical resources to assure patient care safety and quality and achieve targeted outcomes, within the context of the organization’s strategic and financial goals.
• Acts as a role model and steward of the shared vision, mission, values, and service excellence standards of the organization, providing leadership and professional accountability.
• Collaborates with organizational leaders and staff to determine and achieve the strategic priorities and tactics supporting the organization’s mission and vision.
