Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program Director

California Baptist University’s College of Nursing seeks an innovative leader to serve as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program Director (MSN and Certificate) who can provide dynamic leadership in the areas of teaching, service, and scholarly activity. The Director will oversee the direction and management of the program, work collaboratively with colleagues from nursing and other professions, model high standards of clinical practice, teaching excellence, and scholarship. The Director will have administrative oversight of the program and report to the Chair for Graduate Nursing Programs. Primary responsibilities include the implementation of educational programs through classroom teaching, lab instruction, and clinical supervision. Activities involve curriculum development and engagement in accreditation compliance and programmatic evaluation. The Director also addresses and manages student and faculty academic or clinical issues. Classroom instruction includes a variety of teaching and learning strategies directed at meeting the students’ individual learning styles. Clinical supervision includes guiding students to deliver quality nursing care in a variety of health care settings.

The candidate must have a Master in Nursing degree from a nationally accredited School of Nursing and a national certification in this specialty area. Demonstration of nursing academic leadership is required. Must have or be eligible for an active, unencumbered license in the state of California. A doctoral degree is preferred. |
