The Kansas City VA Medical Center is seeking a Section Chief for Primary Care. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program. Multiple Duty Stations available including: Cameron Community Base Outpatient Clinic FILLED - NO LONGER VACANT Excelsior Community Based Outpatient Clinic 197 North McCleary Road Excelsior Springs, MO 64024-8490 Honor Annex Community Based Outpatient Clinic 4251 Northern Avenue Kansas City, MO 64133-1593 Shawnee Community Based Outpatient Clinic 6830 Anderson Street Shawnee, KS 66226 Warrensburg Community Based Outpatient Clinic FILLED - NO LONGER VACANT _________________________________________________ Administrative Responsibilities: Responsible for the oversight and guidance of clinical performance of the Primary Care Provider at multiple clinics based on location request. Setting standards of excellence for all professional staff within assigned areas of primary care by promoting professional development and scholarship. Developing local clinical pathways, policies and procedures and complete outcome measures to improve the quality of care and enhance the Kansas City VA Medical Center's mission. Assist Chief of Primary Care in overall clinical and administrative management of the department through various functions such as leave approval, assignment of daily work flow, investigation of patient safety and advocacy concerns. Completing performance evaluations and providing feed back on those evaluations to providers in assigned clinics. Participate in various committees and work collaboratively with staff members within and outside the department to plan, implement, evaluate and improve care delivery methods, as well as to meet operational goals of the Medical Center. Clinical Duties: Responsible for the comprehensive patient assessments and determination of treatment modalities, care planning and coordination. Utilize evidence based medicine and clinical practice guidelines in treatment plans. Work Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday - Friday, between the hours of 7:30 am - 5:00 pm; Occasional Saturday coverage required Financial Disclosure Report: Not required This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program. To participate in the program, you must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy 1021 and submit your application within four months of appointment. The final award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office.
