We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Sales, Medicare & Individual Health Solutions. The Director of Sales is a senior management position, with overall responsibility for the health plan Medicare and Individual Sales goals, objectives, functions and operations for the Medicare products and Individual products. These activities include sales strategy and tactics development; intensive planning and coordination with regional sales leaders in Medicare and individual markets across multiple states; responsibility for sales functions and operations including a sales call center; responsibility for broker and direct sales training, monitoring, and multiple sales systems management; close coordination with additional sales leaders and functions in the organization. Ongoing pursuit, identification and adoption of best practices for Medicare and Individual Sales responsibilities and functions. The Director represents HealthPartners internally and externally with clients, brokers, members, regulators and community agencies on issues related to Medicare and Individual sales.

Accountabilities:

• Responsible for the supervision of staff, including having the authority to hire, transfer, lay off, promote, discipline and discharge, train, reward and review performance of employees. Ensures compliance to organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
• Provides internal and external leadership on issues related to the administration of Medicare and Individual Sales goals and functions.
• Lead and manage the activities of the Medicare and Individual direct sales executives, call center, sales systems, group retiree sales functions. Identify and adopt best practices.
• Lead and manage the strategy for field marketing organizations, general agencies, individual brokers and the respective goals, functions, training, contracts, and performance. Identify and adopt best practices.
• Lead and manage the sales process system management including applicable systems implementation and maintenance. Identify and adopt best practices.
• Work very closely with the regional sales leaders and teams to identify and execute strategy and functions for Medicare and Individual sales goals, tactics, and functions. Maintain clear and coordinated responsibilities of respective activities (e.g., regional sales teams vs centralized call center, community meetings, etc.).
• Lead, manage and report sales team efforts, metrics and progress toward sales goals for the Medicare and Individual markets. This includes: commercial individual products (medical plans, dental plans, health and well being solutions) and Medicare products (medical plans, dental plans, health and well being solutions; Medicare Advantage; Cost; Medicare Supplement; group retiree plans; dual eligible plans; etc.).
• Structural design of the Sales team for individual and Medicare products, execution and ongoing management of approved structure, to achieve goals.
• Close and ongoing coordination with Marketing and Product (commercial and government programs).
• Close collaboration with the group sales leaders and teams to support competitive solutions for group purchasers.
• Close coordination with the Broker Administration and Sales Administration leader and team to support their execution of broker administration (contracting, compensation, compliance) and the direct sales administration (incentive development, implementation, and tracking).
• Assists the Vice President of Government Programs and the Vice President of Market and Product Innovation in the development and implementation of sales strategies for the various marketplaces.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, brokers, agencies, community organizations, etc. to support sales goals.
• Develop, manage and monitor the Medicare and Individual sales budget(s).
• Actively lead and coordinate the creation, update and ongoing testing and execution of business continuity and disaster recovery planning and preparation.
• Lead and participate in other strategic, planning and operations planning and implementation as assigned.
