Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, the Senior Financial Analyst will lead the coordination and preparation of the Provider Compensation benchmarking tool in Tableau for Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Support the Clinical Professional Effort database, compensation analysis for the committee, and adhoc requests from leadership. Additionally, this position will work with the Senior Accountant to manage monthly, quarterly, and annual review of bonus accrual entries for reasonableness and appropriate documentation. Complete ad-hoc analysis and assist with month end variance analysis for compensation, funds flow pro-forma support, and develop and report on monthly physician incentive payments.
This position will help develop and manage analytical tools to aid with operational and executive decision making; investigate and analyze detailed financial information for reporting and problem solving; benchmarking and reporting on physician compensation; have knowledge of compensation surveys; develop and recommend options for analysis and design. The Senior Financial Analyst will maintain detailed accounting system transactions in support of programs and projects and prepare financial, statistical, and operational reports/presentations.
Key to this position is to understand the institutional mission and vision and compensation accounting in accordance with GAAP, appropriate regulations, and medical center policies and procedures. This position is highly collaborative in nature and requires a great deal of flexibility, creative thinking, and customer service working with very confidential compensation information. Advanced Excel skills are required; knowledge of Tableau is preferred.
Coordinates and prepares the development of the annual compensation benchmarking and Professional Effort reporting in Tableau.
Submits and reviews compensation and productivity data.
Analyzes provider compensation to include researching variances, following up on issues, and resolution.
Prepares and compiles monthly analyses and models.
Proactively manages departmental reviews related to clinical productivity and compensation.
Develops processes for enhancing quality reporting, customer satisfaction, and financial performance goals; Participates in process improvement of a variety of financial systems.
Reviews, analyzes, and researches any variances in the quarterly clinical professional effort calculations.
Provides ad hoc analysis and data as needed.
Maintains and updates Clinical Professional Effort presentations.
Serves as a lead with various special projects.
Builds and maintains positive relationships with our customers.
