This highly accountable and innovative program manager will provide oversight and leadership for assigned projects, policies, and programs within System Practice, Nursing and Patient Education (System P&E). Develops processes and programs to improve system standardization and efficiencies, leads small work teams to ensure policies, projects, and programs meet tight timelines. Manages multiple end-to-end projects in support of various System P&E responsibilities and in collaboration with subject matter experts and interdisciplinary and cross-functional teams to meet overall project goals in terms of scope, quality, budget, and schedule. Serves as a formal and informal people leader on the team.
Fosters an environment of interprofessional collaboration, critical thinking, standardization, innovation, and research to promote the achievement of team, department, and organizational objectives
Collaborates with the leaders and staff in the System P&E structure to ensure the team meets established annual goals and strategic outcomes for quality and safety
Collaborates with System P&E leadership, subject matter expert clinicians, clinical, and patient education to identify opportunities for process improvement, establish priorities, project scope, timelines, deliverables, milestones, and objectives
Leads or co-leads assigned system projects using established project management methodologies and frameworks to support change management through entire project life cycles (eg., PDSA, LEAN)
Leverages technology to support project management development and oversight for the System P&E team projects and deliverables
Provides coordination, oversight of processes, and delegation of tasks to ensure assigned Nursing Practice policies meet requirements for triggered updates, reviews, and approvals
Collaborates with the Patient Education Director and PE team on the development and/or management of efficiencies related to the content management system, content development cycles, and strategies to improve standardization and efficiencies
Serves as a role model, providing mentorship, support, and delegation of appropriate tasks to direct reports (as applicable); provides timely feedback for growth and development, makes recommendations for improvement, standardization, and efficiencies on the P&E team to ensure the right role, right work, right responsibilities
High School degree
Vocational certification in project management or combination of equivalent work experience and education is required
Currently hold PMP certification or accepted/enrolled into an accredited Project Management Professional certification program or demonstration of training in project management principles and theories, ability to complete certification within 1 year of hire
3 years experience in cross-functional project leadership
Minimum of 35 hours of Project Management Training
PMP certification or equivalent or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
Associates or Baccalaureate Degree in Project Management or related degree
Experience in an academic healthcare environment
Progressive supervisory and people leadership responsibility within a matrix organization
Demonstrated experience in process improvement (LEAN, PDSA, or similar framework)
Demonstrated experience in program coordination from development to evaluation
