The Program Manager is responsible for successfully managing and supporting multiple complex projects in the MVA. This includes defining project objectives and coordinating the planning, implementation and evaluation of process improvements. The Program Manager will also provide operational support to leaders within the MVA within their respective areas of responsibility focusing on assessment of processes and related project support. Promotes growth and expansion of programs while ensuring sustainability.

This position with the Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance will be located at the Biomedical Sciences Building at 1005 Dr. D. B. Todd Jr. Blvd; Nashville, TN 37208. The Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance develops and supports collaborative initiatives. It has provided opportunities for collaboration between Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and for collaboration with projects in the community. The elimination of health disparities is a major focus of Alliance Projects. Dr. Karen Winkfield assumed the role of Executive Director on November 1, 2020, and leads the Alliance in expanding its community-engaged research initiatives while continuing to cultivate its existing programs. Adheres to the general MVA standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
Serve as the key MVA for the coordination and assessment of processes in assigned operational areas such as finance, faculty processes and academic resources. Act as key liaison between MVA leadership and department chairs and administrators at academic partner institutions.
Provide assistance and guidance to departments with regards to finance, budgeting and resources inquiries.
Draft financial, statistical, narrative and/or other reports as requested. Access and analyze reports and provide recommendations for leadership consideration.
Design, develop and implement MVA projects supporting key initiatives.
Supports work plan development, execution, task assignment communication, issue/barrier identification and resolution as necessary to maintain project timeline and objective achievement.
Assists in facilitating team meetings to achieve results as they pertain to work plan management.
Collects and calculates project-related metrics or financial figures.
Works with the MVA Executive Director and Administrative Director as needed to participate in initiative/collaborative team meetings, oversight meetings, and other forums to support leaders throughout the Alliance.
Assists with coordinating internal and external Meharry-Vanderbilt program activities which may include education meetings, events, seminars, and workshops
Prepare informational materials and disseminate to appropriate audiences
Coordinate facilities and ensure logistics and materials are prepared for events and meetings
Provide support for Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance activities which may include data collection, database management, basic data analysis, and the preparation of charts, graphs, and tables
Facilitate input from participant partners nationwide for ongoing evaluation of program materials.
Track and assess program impact including development of online surveys and evaluation reports.
Provide consistent communication and outreach to community members
