University of Iowa Health Care (UI Health Care) seeks a forward thinking and visionary leader to serve as its inaugural Chief Analytics Officer (CAO). This is a an exciting opportunity to develop and lead the enterprise analytics function for a vibrant, nationally recognized academic healthcare organization. UI Health Care is an integrated academic medical center that includes UI Hospitals & Clinics, UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital, UI Carver College of Medicine and UI Physicians and is committed to excellence in medical education, research and patient care.
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the CAO will be a highly visible role and an important hire for the health system in support of enabling a data driven organization. This leader will be tasked with developing the enterprise strategy for analytics that effectively serves the data and reporting needs of UI Health Care. The CAO will oversee the teams that directly manage the analytics infrastructure as well as the analysis and reporting of data across a variety of domains in support of the clinical and operational needs of UI Health Care. She/he will organize the structure and develop the team to enable a robust analytics function that provides strategic insight and supports data-driven decision-making. The CAO will facilitate the use of analytics across the enterprise and will work with leaders and staff to better coordinate analytics resources that exist across UI Health Care currently.
The ideal candidate will be a visionary executive with a proven track-record in leading analytics in a complex organization, preferably an integrated delivery system. The CAO will bring strategic and operational management to build the foundation and advance the health system's capability to include predictive and prescriptive analytics in the future. This leader will have the ability to quickly learn and understand the overall landscape of a complex organization undergoing change and expansion. Additionally, she/he must be able to educate stakeholders in the effective use of analytics to drive decision-making within the organization.
