MSK Physiatrist/Director of Physiatry desired for Bayside Employee Health Center - Join our well established, physician owned general occupational medicine clinic, available in early Fall, 2021.
This position offers a four day work week (most weeks) with no hospital, on call or weekend work and most major holidays off. This is a partnership track position for a motivated candidate.

The Director of Physiatry will work with a multidisciplinary team to treat injured workers in our occupational and environmental medicine practice. The Director will provide leadership in the management of the therapy department (two DrPTs, and one OTR), and be a secondary physician supervisor for our midlevel provider. We are looking to add ultrasound guided injectionprocedures to this practice and will support development of that service.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Graduate of a US osteopathic or allopathic medical school.
Completion of a US PM&R residency
Ability to obtain and maintain a licensure with the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine
Current DEA Registration Certificate
Evaluate and treat orthopedic and soft tissue injuries, concussions, and occupational neurological disorders; determine and provide appropriate pharmacological treatment, diagnostic testing and therapeutic interventions; utilize outside specialists as needed. Medical philosophy supports conservative care and return to work, i.e. “work as medicine.”
Provide musculoskeletal/soft tissue injections; training in US guided methods ideal but not required; perform EMGs
Work collaboratively and positively with the patient, employers, insurers and case managers to insure an optimal outcome for the injured worker.
May perform chart reviews and Independent Medical Exams, however we will offer training for those without prior experience
Utilize knowledge of occupational injury and WC and its impact on injured workers when managing cases
Provide leadership and clinical guidance to therapy department and other medical providers
Minimize opiate prescribing
Contribute ideas for practice innovation
Acupuncture skills welcome; will consider training for motivated candidates
Osteopathic assessment skills ideal, not required
Telecommuting is allowed.
