Manages and provides daily operational oversight for clinical documentation improvement program. Manages the clinical documentation specialists to ensure that clinical information is present and accurate. Ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient information according to policies and procedures. Provides direction for all clinical documentation specialist activities, audits, education and productivity and quality standards. Performs duties as necessary to support quality improvement process in the departments as well as that of the hospitals. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Associates Degree in Nursing or Health Information Management
5 years of recent nursing experience in medical/surgical in acute care setting or 5 years of coding experience in acute care
RN licensure and/or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), or Certified Documentation Improvement Professional (CDIP)
Bachelors Degree in Nursing or Health Information Management
