The Manager of Pharmacy Compliance’s overriding responsibility is to support the detection and mitigation of risk and to advance pharmacy compliance to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. The Manager of Pharmacy Compliance is responsible for maintaining current knowledge of relevant state and federal laws and regulations and acts as a resource and representative when compliance issues arise.
The manager will support the implementation and maintenance of appropriate policies and procedures, support compliance training, support investigations and maintain a system of compliance reporting. The manager will coordinate and facilitate the maintenance of policies and procedures throughout the pharmacy system. The manager will be responsible for following up on reported incidents of non-compliance, coordinating internal investigations and preparing final reports on incidents and investigation findings.
The Manager of Pharmacy Compliance is responsible for maintaining current knowledge of relevant state and federal laws & regulations and acts as an expert resource and representative when compliance issues arise. Coordinates system-wide compliance efforts among pharmacy departments and other relevant stakeholders. The Manager of Pharmacy Compliance will oversee the work of medication safety and compliance pharmacy technicians who utilize analytical tools on a daily basis for tracking and trending of various pharmacy compliance metrics. The Manager will also work in conjunction with the compliance coordinators to review trends and information from analytical tools to form quality improvement plans and corrective actions. The Manager of Pharmacy Compliance reports directly to the Director of Pharmacy Compliance and supports the Director in providing information and reports to the VP of Pharmacy and other stakeholders such as Corporate Compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare related field or equivalent experience required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Three to five years of compliance experience in a health care environment with demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to pharmacy services required. Demonstrated experience with laws and regulations pertaining to Legacy Pharmacy services. Working knowledge of management of an effective compliance program, including training, monitoring, and conducting and documenting investigations, addressing violations, and monitoring corrective action. Supervisory experience preferred.
