JOB SUMMARY The Vice President Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of McKinney provides business unit executive oversight and support for the financial functions of the Medical Center to the Board, President, and Management Team and is responsible for the financial operations of the entire Medical Center. The CFO provides strategic leadership and management of the Medical Center financial planning, budget processes and ensures the integrity of the monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP. This position analyzes and interprets financial results, creates financial performance plans for the President, Board, implements and monitors performance of Baylor Scott & White Health (BWSH) approved plans, and communicates directly with the Medical Center Board. The CFO monitors and controls the assets and commitments at the direction of BSWH, Medical Center Board and President and manages the capital expenditure process. In addition, the CFO ensures adequate cash flow to meet the operating objectives and works closely to coordinate the Medical Center needs with BSWH service providers to include Financial Services, Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis, Government Reimbursement, Compliance, Treasury, Tax, Internal Audit, Revenue Cycle Services, and Centralized Business Services. Additional service providers include Access Services, Health Information Management, Revenue Cycle Improvement, Compliance, Managed Care, Payroll, IT, and Materials Management Services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE The Vice President Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of McKinney serves as an official corporate officer of the Medical Center, coordinates all Medical Center operational department financial function and helps develop improvement plans. The CFO coordinates with Internal Audit for interim audits and Financial Services for the annual external audits, and manages the Medical Center internal revenue cycle activities such as access services, charge capture, charge master, health information management, billing and collections, customer service, account adjudication, and revenue cycle compliance. The CFO works closely with Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) Treasurer to optimize the Medical Center and BSWH cash position and to ensure appropriate debt structure. In addition, the CFO hires, trains, provides organizational support for key reporting areas, and coaches the Medical Center team members on financial matters.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS The ideal candidate must have strong written, oral, presentation, planning, analytical, project management and leadership skills and have mastery of GAAP, a solid understanding of government reimbursement and tax regulations and completion of a Bachelor or Master in Accounting or Finance.
