Our firm has been retained by Lower Cape Fear LifeCare (LCFL) in the search for their Home Health Operations Director. LCFL is nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the highest level of care and comfort to patients with life-limiting illness; support and counseling to families; and education to the community. LCFH serves 9 counties across North and South Carolina, and its caregivers proudly serve patients and families in private homes, assisted living facilities, skilled nurse facilities, hospitals and care centers.
The Home Health Operations Director will report to the Chief Clinical Officer and will have operational responsibility for assisting with clinical standards and clinical practices and for defining the qualifications and performance expectations for positions within the Clinical Departments. This role will work closely with the Home Care Program Director for strategic planning, program development, quality and standards of patient care.
Assist in collaboration across departments in developing, implementing and documenting clinical standards and practices and defining qualifications and performance expectations in the operation of the Clinical Department, as well as the care of the patient/family
Ensure policies, practices, procedures and standards of agency, accreditation, regulatory, and legal requirements are met
Determine staffing needs and staffing patterns according to program requirements and with consideration for utilization of personnel at their maximum potential
Champion staff education and ensure that all staff receive a high quality, comprehensive clinical orientation to patient care
Monitor performance based on quality, outcomes and cost of care. Actively participate in the design and implementation of improvement projects
Foster an atmosphere conducive to enhanced employee satisfaction and professional growth
Provide feedback regularly with the clinical staff to communicate strategic decisions, monitor goals and results, and initiate action plans to address variances
Assist in coordinating patient care activities with contract and supply providers.
Develop and foster relationships with all “customers” that result in solutions and removal of barriers to care
Stay current in clinical and national policy issues involving clinical and overall patient care
Maintain and adjust schedules to enhance team performance
Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations in dealing with all members of the team
Effectively demonstrate the mission, vision and values of the agency
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, either through an AD, Diploma or BSN or MSN program with current license to practice professional nursing in the state of North Carolina/South Carolina; minimum of 5 years’ nursing experience with progressive management experience
Home Health and/or Hospice experience strongly preferred
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; knowledge of licensing, certification, and accreditation standards
Strong background in nursing skills, knowledge of nursing standards, and the nurse practice acts
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate in a professional manner with peers, staff, physicians, patients and families, and the public. Able to effectively present information to management, staff, professional colleagues and/or board of directors as well as respond to inquiries and complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the community
Knowledge of healthcare delivery systems, payor sources, risk management, regulatory compliance and accreditation standards
Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
