The Registered Nurse position is located James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital - Patient Aligned Care Team - PACT/PCA. The Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) Primary Care Assistant Nurse Manager is accountable to the Nurse Manager of Primary Care, Ambulatory Care. The Assistant Nurse Manager assists in the coordination and provision of quality care to the veterans. This includes the management, supervision, and evaluation of care delivered by nursing and other allied healthcare staff. The PACT Primary Care Clinics utilize a patient-driven, team-based approach delivering efficient, comprehensive, and continuous care through active communication and coordination of healthcare services. The Assistant Nurse Manager will follow the objectives for the PACT initiative which are to improve patient satisfaction, clinical quality, safety, and efficiencies by exercising leadership in the delivery of primary care services. The PACT objective for the Assistant Nurse Manager is: patient-driven, team-based, efficient, comprehensive, continuous communication, and coordination of care. The expectation of Assistant Nurse Manager in the PACT primary care clinics is to assist the Nurse Manager to improve patient satisfaction and maintain/improve employee satisfaction. The person selected must be forward thinking and energetic with excellent communication and computer skills. Duties include but are not limited to: Assists with managing the operations of PACT Primary Care and GYN clinics. Assists with staffing to include scheduling and maintaining/approving leave requests. Maintains staff competency folders and training Assists and guides staff in the delivery of high-quality patient care Assists Nurse Manager to identify clinic issues, act towards their resolution, and evaluate the outcomes Participates in interdisciplinary team rounds to facilitate timely patient care services Assists with evaluating staff performance (RN and GS employees) Assists with coaching and counseling of staff Assists with reviewing employee time and attendance and certifying time cards Initiates quality improvement activities to improve patient outcomes and Hospital Performance Measure (EPRP and Performance Measure reports) Applies evidence to improve nursing practice and patient care Serves as a preceptor and mentor to others Assists with conducting evidence-based research for new programs Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication skills Exhibits a high level of performance Demonstrates ability to interact well with peers and other services Exercises effective decision-making Committed to excellent customer service Demonstrates proficiency in clinical practice, teaching, and organizational skills Self-directed Demonstrates leadership ability Excellent time and attendance Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm; occasional rotation to Saturday as required to meet patient care needs.
