The Manager IT Field Technical Services leads Legacy’s IS construction services and field engineering teams. Works closely with facility and construction leadership to define project requirements and coordinate all information technology components including application, technology, and devices. Manages and applies in-depth analysis and technical knowledge to the design, pricing, coordination, implementation and installation of infrastructure systems and services related to space and construction projects. Accountable for a highly complex portfolio of facilities, master facility plan, real estate programs and projects. Accountable for managing networking, telecom services in each facility. This includes managing conditioned space, coordinating facility maintenance schedules and responding to escalated service issues.
Directly supervises a team of telecom and network engineers, IS project managers, project coordinators, and desktop support specialists. Has overall accountability for telecommunications and wireless engineering and support across Legacy. The role requires a high level of customer service, accountability and effective communication and coordination skills.
Serves as a role model and mentor for their team and collaborates with peer managers on other teams to improve the delivery of Legacy’s technical services. Facilitates communication between staff, leadership and customers. Acts as a senior level team representative to projects and is responsible for negotiating win-win solutions to difficult challenges. Has authority to commit team resources and make technical decisions in support of key initiatives.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, Master’s degree preferred.
Five years of progressively responsible experience in information technology. Prior management experience (manager, project manager, lead or architect) including staff development/supervision and budget accountability, is strongly preferred.
Prior project management experience is required as the role has accountability for infrastructure design/budgeting/coordination/installation services related to construction-type projects.
Prior experience in a complex environment similar in size and scale to Legacy Health.
Proven experience developing engineering standards to include technology, process and workflow.
Thorough understanding of current trends in their domain specialty, as well as trends in information technology and healthcare.
Knowledge of hospital/healthcare environment is preferred.
Broad knowledge of current developments and trends in infrastructure technology including networking, telecommunications, server, storage, virtualization, systems monitoring, and disaster recovery.
Exceptional project management skills with proven ability to manager large and complex construction and technology projects.
Proven background designing and managing customer centric systems and tools with a clear focus on the user experience.
Ability to develop and describe the strategy and requirements for infrastructure design and implementation; ability to review and describe end user computing strategic plans, project plans, budgets and capital plans
Strong interpersonal skills that allow for effective working relationships with a wide range of people and roles inside and outside of Legacy Health.
Demonstrated ability to do systematic, thorough problem solving and have ability to initiate client problem resolution.
Financial management skills including program/project budget development and expense management within budget
Demonstrated leadership and talent development skills
Metrics-driven: Strong analytical and synthesis skills are a must, including the ability to absorb and process large amounts of data into actionable information. Track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and drive decision-making.
