We are looking for a seasoned cloud architect with the focus on modernizing our data warehouse on Google cloud platform. This team is responsible for building enterprise data capabilities that include data acquisition and ingestion, automation of controls to support data management and the creation of new enterprise data products from both 3rd party and internal data sources from across the organization. This will include partnering with enterprise architecture, product multiple BI/Analytics teams. The team will embark on a journey to modernize its current on-prem datawarhouse to Google cloud.
The Solution Architect is responsible for the overall design, approach, and architecture for the Enterprise Data warehouse & Products. This role is expected to be both hands-on and strategic in applying modern architecture techniques and patterns to create a best-in-class data eco-system that simplifies the pervasive use of data across the company. The objective of this new enterprise capability is to enable data and analytics product teams across the enterprise to improve value creation and accelerate time-to-market.
Work side-by-side with engineering teams to solve complex technical problems to support delivery
Deep understanding and hands-on experience with building & architecting enterprise-scale data warehouse & products in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) that includes:
GCP Account & Security Models
Batch & RT Data Pipelines
Data Storage, Querying, Serving
Monitoring & Data Quality
Data Catalog Integrations
Partner with other BI/Analytics technology teams to establish flexible and consistent approaches and expectations for data ingest, access, store, test, experimentation, etc.
Partner across data governance, data management, and enterprise architecture teams to ensure the business needs to manage and protect data; this may include an approach that leverages both 3rd party tools and native GCP services (i.e., metadata capture, data quality, access controls, handling of sensitive data, lineage, etc.)
Five (5) or more years of cloud architecture experience utilizing emerging data platforms and tools
Three (3) or more years of experience working in Agile environments supporting multiple product owners with competing priorities
Experience building & architecting enterprise-scale data warehouse & product capabilities in a large corporate environment using emerging technologies and architectures
Experience implementing methods, tools and techniques to support Data Architecture, Data Integration, Data Quality, Data Security, Data Governance and Data Lineage concepts
Experience developing relationships across multiple areas of a large matrixed business (i.e. IT, delivery, enterprise architecture, business teams, etc.), translating high-level business objectives into valuable and executable actions
