Full Time exempt position
You Will be Responsible For:
Ensures all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Demonstrates knowledge of current treatment for patients with behavioral health related disease and illness, current standards, appropriate treatment recommendations and modalities.
Demonstrates knowledge of current best practices, as well as current standards, and appropriate recommendations for practice.
Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and family
Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Nursing Officer and administrative team as needed.
Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients' needs are met and hospital policy is followed.
Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
Consults other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.
Maintains performance improvement activities for department.
Ensures that Clinical Documentation meets current standards and policies.
Provides education to staff on performance improvement. Ability to plan and organize orientation and in-service training for unit staff members, participates in guidance and educational programs.

What You Will Need:
Able to communicate effectivelyl in English, both verbally and in wirting required.
Master's degree in nursing or equivalent or Bachelors degree in nursing required if Master's degree in one other than nursing, or LCSW required
5 years of nursing management experience requried or LCSW with 5 years of management experience required
2 years of BH experience required, 5 years of experience or greater preferred
The Director of Behavioral Health is responsible for the growth, vision and integration of BH principles throughout the organization. Responsibilities for BH include inteke, utilization review, inpatient staffing, collaboration with the outpatient behvioral health clinic/intensive outpatient program/partial hospitalization program, marketing/business development of referrals, director oversite of programs, etc. Works closely with the BH Manager, ED Manager, and CLinical Education staff for oversight of staff members in the clinical units and continued education for front line staff. Consult with staff, physicians, VP CLinical Services / CNO on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Maintain performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Responsible for formulating budgets in all reporting departments. Works closely with the clinical educators to ensure all possible opportunities for staff education are met. Also accountable for the budget and financial management for responsible departments, data analysis, manages product cost savings initiatives; plans and collects data to increase product standardization, manages day to day facilitiy management for applicable departments and assumes personal accoutability for organizational mission and core values.
