Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – NephrologyGeisinger is seeking a motivated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Nephrology team based in State College/Lewistown, PA. Prior Nephrology training is not required. We will teach the successful candidate the skills needed. This position requires a self-starter and a good communicator who can multi-task and function effectively with limited supervision in multiple sites. Our primary goal is to attract a candidate who pays attention to details and enjoys working in a fast-paced outpatient environment with a team-based approach. The department provides comprehensive Nephrology services including: acute and chronic dialysis, outpatient management of kidney disease, and long-term management of kidney transplant recipients. There may be a future opportunity to develop this position into inpatient and outpatient care. This position requires extensive traveling to dialysis centers and Geisinger clinics throughout central PA including Lewistown, Lock Haven, Huntingdon, Philipsburg, State College. No overnight hours required, limited weekends possible.
Primary responsibilities include:
Evaluate dialysis patients at several dialysis centers
Provide care in several outpatient kidney clinics
Act as a liaison between providers, nursing teams and patients
Collaborate with other providers to improve systems of care
