This is an exciting opportunity to serve as chief medical officer (CMO) in an administrative role newly re-designed to support a multisite FQHC in rapid expansion mode. The CMO will be part of a cohesive leadership team and focused on patient care, quality, physician recruitment and engagement, and innovative ideas to serve the needs of the growing community.
About Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs):
qualify for funding under Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act (PHS) and enhanced reimbursement from Medicare and Medicaid, as well as other benefits.
serve an underserved area or population.
offer a sliding fee payment scale.
provide comprehensive services (onsite or by arrangement with another provider), including preventive health services; dental services; mental health and substance abuse services; transportation services necessary for adequate patient care; and hospital and specialty care.
have a governing board of directors.
Education and experience:
MD or DO with board certification in a primary care specialty, ideally family or internal medicine.
Master’s degree in public health, health care administration, or business administration from an accredited university of recognized standing preferred.
Successful completion of residency program accredited by ACGME or AOA in a medical specialty related to services provided by facility or diplomate of one of the certifying boards approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties or AOA.
Five-10 years of experience in multi-practice site, community-based primary care setting, with three-five in clinical operations or delivery systems.
General knowledge of finance, reimbursement, budgetary, strategic planning in a health care institutional environment.
Broad knowledge of federal and state of NJ regulatory environment, reimbursement, and licensure/standards/certification as it relates to FQHCs is helpful.
