Responsible for performing the functions of the Health Services Department as directed by Health Services RN's through promoting wellbeing and a safe working environment for all personnel in the assigned area within Geisinger.
Organizes daily, weekly, monthly and annual work schedules.
Provides direct nursing care as directed by physician or mid-level provider.
Performs health immunizations on all newly hired employees and collects information for health screening, i.e. blood pressure, drug screen and immunization records.
Initiates and maintains an accurate electronic health record for every employee insuring confidentiality.
Collects and prepares laboratory specimens and completes associated paperwork to expedite laboratory studies with maximum accuracy and efficiency.
Performs a urine collection to obtain specimens in compliance with the appropriate criteria.
Administers immunizations consistent with current policies.
Administers vaccines under the direction of Health Services Medical Director and nursing scope of practice.
Provides educational information to employees consistent with the mission and objectives of the Health Services.
Learns new software, maintains data bases and keeps current with Health Services EMR.
Provides support to the wellness team to assist in wellness screening events.
Routinely inspects and observes condition and operation of diagnostic equipment to ensure proper operation and identify need for preventative and corrective maintenance.
Manages supplies utilized by Health Services in an efficient manner.
