In this critical position, you will be responsible for directing physical plant operations for over 2,000,000 GSF of inpatient and outpatient space. This will include implementing and managing processes to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and regulatory requirements including TJC, CMS, OSHPD, OSHA, USP, AAMI etc. You will work with vendors, campus facilities management and key internal health system personnel to implement and document maintenance work. You will be responsible for developing and managing physical plant department and capital budgets. You will also oversee the maintenance/repair of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, electrical distribution systems, mechanical equipment, plumbing system, nurse call system, overhead paging systems and all other core building systems.
Must possess good interpersonal skills
Bachelors Degree preferred or equivalent experience
10+ years management level in Healthcare Facilities
Facilities Management/leadership in a hospital setting
Familiarity and experience with JCAHO requirements
Understanding of facility management and maintenance and complex building systems
Operating expense control; budgeting and variance analysis; energy management and audit experience
Third party partner management and facilitation, contract review and negotiation; organization and planning; personnel development and leadership
Ability to communicate with executive management
Experience with a facility of similar size, scope and workforce span of control
Demonstrated specific knowledge and experience with various governing agencies / codes that govern a facility management operation, such as OSHA and NFPA
Experience working in a unionized environment
