WittKieffer has been retained by Unity Health Care Inc. (Unity), headquartered in Washington D.C., to identify the organization's next President and Chief Executive Officer. Unity Health Care is seeking a new leader due to the planned retirement of the incumbent, Vincent Keane, who has successfully led the organization for more than thirty years, growing the organization from a $6 million annual budget to an annual budget of over $100 million. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a mission-based, growing, community-oriented organization focused on serving the District of Columbia's underserved and at-risk residents.
Unity Health Care is the largest network of community health centers in Washington, D.C., providing services through a network of over 20 traditional and non-traditional health sites. Unity Health Care serves more than 100,000 patients each year through more than 450,000 visits. The organization has experienced tremendous growth throughout its history and has made a major impact on healthcare delivery in the region. Unity Health Care is one of the largest federally qualified health centers in the nation.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO must be politically savvy, serve as the recognized leader of Unity Health Care, and be an effective advocate with a range of external stakeholders. S/he will partner with the Board and Executive Management Team to develop the organization's strategic business plan and identify financial, clinical, and operational goals to ensure achievement of the organization's mission. The CEO will evaluate the current state of operations, including the impact of COVID-19, and identify opportunities for improvements to increase efficiencies and build a stronger infrastructure within areas such as finance, information technology, and human resources. S/he will navigate Unity Health Care through the changing landscape facing community health centers and identify opportunities to improve and expand services, access, quality and reimbursement, as well as mitigate risk from political and economic forces. The CEO will be a strong people manager with a commitment to building strong, high performing teams. As Unity Health Care continues to grow, it is imperative for the CEO to continue building the senior team to support this growth.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience serving in leadership roles within healthcare organizations.
