The Communications Manager will support the department's communication needs and serve as a key liaison with the Scott & White Marketing Communications group. They will work collaboratively to provide all employees with compelling communications that disseminate key messages and leverage existing communication and messaging. The Communications Manager, will manage strategic communication programs for their supported department and our Scott & White internal business partners, defining objectives for communicating effectively, and will be able to create innovative solutions whose design and voice are consistent with the Scott & White Mission, Vision and Values
Uses writing and editing skills to create the content and direction of a variety of communications.
Aligns internal and external messages to present a unified organization; promotes the company's mission, vision and values, programs and services through day-to-day implementation of communication strategies and tactics.
Manages creative resources (writing, design, production and delivery) and the development process to create engaging and meaningful communications, while managing cost and ensuring on-time delivery of communication projects.
Leads and directs internal teams and external vendors to deliver world-class communications.
Monitors and measures results to ensure objectives are met.
Works with Marketing Communication Team (MarCom).
Works to clearly define communications projects, ensuring they have a strong business case, serves a clear need and meets the standards established by the department and MarCom organizations. Works with other Scott & White departments on projects .
Serves as a proxy for the employee point-of-view on all development projects Human Resources Department Specific Responsibilities: *
Executes key HR communication objectives.
Advises senior leadership on communication approaches that enhance Scott & White images, promotes its brand and aligns employees with strategic initiatives.
Manages content for Scott & White Careers website and optimizes the site as a recruitment tool .
With the HR and MarCom teams, develops strategic, comprehensive, integrated recruitment marketing and employee communications strategies, including the Scott & White employee brand and strategies across traditional and new media.
Supports employee development efforts, including annual United Way appeal and internal employee fund-raising programs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Education and Experience * At least five years communications experience, preferably with a focus on the department supporting (HR, IT, Marketing, etc.) * Experience in a healthcare environment a plus * Working knowledge of department disciplines * Experience writing and editing in a variety of styles * Solid strategic thinking and understanding of employee communication programs * Ability to work collaboratively within and across organizations to achieve results, and develop organizational understanding and sophistication * Ability to work independently to meet specs and deadlines with minimal supervision * Ability to manage creative resources, both internal and external * Solid experience working with social media solutions * Proficiency in common workplace applications, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and other web and email applications * Ability to manage media selection across all media channels, including social media, resulting in relevant, effective and engaging communications
Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience with 2 years of experience substituting for 1 year of degree.
A minimum of 5 years experience required
