SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under general direction, this position is responsible for oversight, implementation of policies, protocols, procedures, direction and local level leadership of a regional emergency management program. Prepares for, responds to and recovers from events that impact the facilities in the assigned region. The position will support acute care entities within the region of responsibility and manage the implementation of generally accepted national standards, regulations, and codes. Implements facility level educational and training programs, plans and delivers exercises and drills and manages the maintenance and inventory of facility emergency management disaster equipment. Develops and distributes reports, plans and coordinates after action reviews for facility events. Assists clinical and non-clinical facility leaders with development of comprehensive Business Resilience and Continuity (BRC) plans. Support designated members of management and authorized departmental personnel in accessing and using specialized software applications. Serve as the department technical specialist for emergency preparedness management through facility level emergency preparedness committees.
Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Health Preparedness, Disaster Management , Safety & Health, or a related technical field required.
4 years of related work experience required.
FEMA IS-100.c, IS-200.c, IS-700 and IS-800 training required.
FEMA ICS-300 and ICS-400 training required within 12 months of hire or transfer to role.
CPR/ AED within 6 months of employment required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Microsoft Office skills.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Associate Business Continuity Professional Certification preferred.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) – Introduction to Continuity IS 547a course completions preferred.
FEMA CDP Healthcare Leadership (HCL) preferred.
FEMA CDP Hospital Emergency Response Team (HERT) preferred.
Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent preferred.
