Under the direction of the Director Acute Care Services, the Manager of Surgical Unit provides the overall management of the unit. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling all aspects of unit operations in collaboration with nursing and medical staff leadership to achieve clinical and service objectives, fiscal performance targets, the strategic plan goals, and service line initiatives of Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. The Manager is responsible for ensuring delivery of quality patient care in compliance with all regulations, adherence to hospital policies and procedures, and overseeing customer service, patient satisfaction and staff performance and competence.
Evaluates, plans and develops standards and measurement tool to assess and improve staff and hospital performance with patient care
Creates an atmosphere of team, accountability, and ownership, promoting cooperative behavior and excellent customer service
Exhibits knowledge of accounting principles with understanding of business development as well as business economics and inventory management
Collaboratively functions in cooperation with the leadership team in developing policies and procedures, strategic planning to efficiently and effectively meet the objectives of providing quality care and servicing product lines
