Salisbury, MD – TidalHealth is seeking a dynamic, transformational physician leader to serve as its System Chief Medical Officer (CMO). TidalHealth is located on the Delmarva Peninsula and encompasses the former Peninsula Regional Health System: Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, McCready Memorial, the Peninsula Regional Medical Group, Nanticoke Physician Network, Delmarva Heart, and Peninsula Cardiology. The system has grown to be over $730 million in revenues, and has been the recent recipient of several national awards.
Reporting directly to TidalHealth's CEO, Steven Leonard, the CMO serves as an integral member of the senior leadership team and is the key physician executive who drives clinical excellence, care delivery, and a unified physician community consisting of a pluralistic model of employed and private practice physicians. They will be the physician leader responsible for planning and structuring medical staff services to best align with the organization and community needs. Part of this planning includes creating a platform for care consistency, a strategic direction, and constructive channels for communication between medical staff and administration.
The successful candidate will be an experienced and charismatic physician of the highest integrity with intimate knowledge of clinical practice and understanding of the business of healthcare. They will be a leader who can clearly and comfortably communicate with physicians of various backgrounds, with administrators at various levels, establishing a culture which is constantly improving and creating a supportive structure inherent to a high-performing organization. This role will require a leader with superb interpersonal skills who will be viewed as a highly trustworthy, credible, fair, and approachable individual.
