JOB SUMMARY: Provides guidance to department on administrative functions. Responsible for analying data, communicating, and validating request for improvements to business processes, practices, financial data, and information systems by presenting comprehensive insight, identifying areas for improvement, and leading changes.
The Vanderbilt Vaccine Center (VVC) is recognized as one of the leading vaccine centers in the world with broad expertise in basic and clinical discovery related to understanding and optimizing disease prevention through vaccination. At the interface of immunology andvirology , recent computational advances have allowed us to better understand the interactions between antibodies and antigen, to design immunogens capable of eliciting target antibody specificities, and to optimize antibodies as clinical products. Research efforts in the Georgiev laboratory aim to utilize the power of computation to increase our understanding of fundamental questions in immunology and virology and to develop novel ways of using this understanding to fight diseases. For the translational component of our research, we apply structure-based protein design approaches to the development of new vaccine and antibody product candidates against a number of viruses of biomedical interest.

Analyze financial and business processes; which may require reviews of internal policies and procedures.
Apply process improvement methods applicable to the field and designs plans for implementation.
Provide sound personnel and payroll administration
Create budgeting and forecasting models to examine the overall business strategy. Manage, plan and frequently adjust budgets based on established expectations.
Facilitate implementation of business plans and deliver communications relating to process changes to ensure strategic goals are met.

CLERICAL/ADMINISTRATIVE (ADVANCED): - Clerical/Administration is a skill which includes most clerical and administrative functions typically carried out by secretaries, administrators and others who perform a clerical role. Among the duties are: Ad Hoc Reporting, Calendar Maintenance, Data Entry, Document Duplication, Document Filing and Maintenance, Document Preparation, Employee Record Maintenance, Employee Time Recording, Faxing and Electronic Mailing, Inventory Management, Mail Sorting and Distribution, Meeting Coordination and Scheduling, Message Management, Receptionist Tasks, Special Projects, Spreadsheet Preparation, Travel Arrangements, and Word Processing and Typing.
HUMAN RESOURCES POLICIES AND PROCEDURES (INTERMEDIATE): - Knowledge, adherence and application of human resources policies and procedures.
OPERATIONS PLANNING (ADVANCED): - Anticipates resource needs to meet objectives and implements appropriate processes.
COMPLIANCE (INTERMEDIATE): - Understanding the rules, regulations, sanctions and other statutory requirements, guidelines and instructions relating to governing bodies and organizations, both internally and externally.
BUSINESS RESULTS (ADVANCED): - Ability to achieve business results while focusing on quality, customer satisfaction, and stewardship.
