As a Registered Nurse Manager you are the designated first-line supervisory authority, responsible for the operations of their clinics/areas, ensuring that subordinate personnel provide timely nursing care which complies with generally accepted standards of clinical practice. This includes the authority to accept, amend, or reject the work of subordinates. The Nurse Manager will actively develop and manage collaborative partnerships with physicians and other clinicians. As the Registered Nurse Manager, you will use professional standards of care and practice to evaluate self, programs, and service activities. You will maintain knowledge of current techniques, trends, and professional issues. You will use group process to identify, analyze, and resolve care problems. Duties of the position include but are limited to; Initiate/participate in Patient Safety activities that result in improved outcomes. Implement an educational plan to meet changing program or service needs. Educate colleagues and serve as a preceptor and/or mentor on patient safety initiatives and standards. Support and enhance client self-determination. Serve as a resource for clients and staff in addressing ethical issues. Participate in ethics consultations. Collaborate with others in research activities to improve care. Identify and assess resource utilization and safety issues, taking appropriate action. Planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting priorities and preparing schedules for completion of work. Assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and the requirements of the assignments, and the capabilities of subordinates. Evaluating the performance of subordinates. Making recommendations for appointments, advancements or reassignments of subordinates. Giving advice, counsel, or instruction to subordinate personnel on work and administrative matters. Hearing and resolving complaints of subordinates and referring more serious complaints not resolved to higher level supervisors. Recommending and/or taking disciplinary action where appropriate. Identifying developmental and training needs of subordinates and providing or making provision for such development and training Preferred Experience: While not a requirement for consideration or selection, applicants with the following preferred education/experience will be considered highly qualified, BSN prepared At least 2 years of recent Nurse supervisory experience At least 2 years of recent Primary Care/Medical Surgical experience At least 2 years' experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) At least 2 years' experience with Microsoft Suite products and application At least 3 years' experience of Quality Management, Performance/Process improvement Such experience must be clearly identifiable in the supporting application documents.
