Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan announces an exceptional opportunity for a nationally recognized physician leader to serve as the Vice President, Department Chief, Cardiovascular Health & Frederik Meijer Endowed Chair, Frederik Meijer Heart & Vascular Institute.
The Vice President, Department Chair serves as an instrumental and highly visible leadership role and will focus on strategy, vision, and clinical operations to position the Frederik Meijer Heart & Vascular Institute as a nationally recognized, regionally focused destination for heart and vascular care. The Vice President, Department Chief will lead a team of talented physicians and advanced practice providers to identify opportunities for advancing a culture of safety, inclusion, and accountability; improve quality and safety across all areas; foster innovative approaches to patient-centered care and population health; expand research and educational opportunities to achieve departmental and system goals. The Vice President, Department Chief will work closely with related service line leaders to assure coordinated planning and support for all services across the care continuum and across the clinical enterprise. As Endowed Chair, this physician leader will foster collaborations and partner with programs and centers nationally and internationally to build upon the existing clinical excellence, research and education and expand the depth and breadth of the Frederik Meijer Heart & Vascular Institute.

The successful candidate will be a nationally recognized cardiovascular physician-leader with an outstanding track record of program development, provider recruitment, and advancing quality and service initiatives to achieve a high performing cardiovascular service line. Extensive prior physician leadership experience is required for this role. The individual will have strong interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other professionals to advance clinical programs, education and research. Board certification, the ability to obtain an unrestricted Michigan medical license and a reduced clinical practice is required.
