Stanford, CA – Stanford Health Care (SHC), a leading academic health care system and a component of the larger Stanford Medicine, is seeking a progressive and innovative physician leader to serve as its inaugural Associate Chief Medical Officer, Ambulatory Care (ACMO). This person will also serve as the Chief Medical Officer for University HealthCare Alliance (UHA). University HealthCare Alliance, the medical foundation of SHC and Stanford Medicine, was formed January 1, 2011, and partners with 2 medical groups with over 65 clinic locations and over 350 board-certified primary and specialty care clinicians located across the San Francisco Bay Area communities. UHA also includes an affiliated IPA network – Affinity Medical Group – with 1,100 clinicians providing additional high-quality, innovative, and affordable health care solutions.
The Associate Chief Medical Officer for Ambulatory Care at SHC and Chief Medical Officer of UHA is the senior physician executive for ambulatory care across the Stanford Health Care enterprise. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide leadership in creating an integrated ambulatory care network. Working in partnership with Stanford Health Care Executive Leadership, the School of Medicine’s Clinical Chairs, and UHA Executive and Medical Group leadership, this individual will contribute to and elevate a system-wide standard for value-driven care, while collaborating in the ongoing evolution of the Stanford Medicine network strategy.
The ideal candidate will be an outstanding and respected physician leader who carries a deep understanding of the complexities of academic and community medicine, including how to leverage the strengths of both towards an integrated care model. The successful candidate will have experience building followership and trust and will have the skills to effectively engage teams and diverse stakeholder groups across the Stanford Medicine enterprise. The physician leader, with a proven track record of building teams that achieve desired outcomes, will serve as a strategic and operational driver for achieving a high-value health system.
