You Will Be Responsible For:
Leadership: Actively participates, communicates and serves as a positive change agent for all practices, departments, and system’s initiatives/goals and leadership activities. Participates as required in recruitment, interviewing of staff, and coordinates pre-hire clinical skill assessments.
Training/Role Transition: Creates, plans, implements, and coordinates activities related to training of new and experienced clinical employees new to AdventHealth Medical Group across Physician Enterprise. Activities to include creating processes which may include coaching of new clinical employees, performance evaluation and growth plans. Monitors and reports on competency feedback, turnover trends and compliance with required documentation for training. Evaluates training/role transition process based on health care trends, learning needs and organizational goals.
Career Development: Creates and has oversight of career pathways for clinical personnel including Medical Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses and others as designated by the organization.
Education Development: Assists in the creation/development of supplemental training, MA schooling within AdventHealth for AdventHealth Medical Group as directed. Creation of Center of Excellence for Medical Assisting.
Principles of Education: Utilizes principles of education, adult learning, and for clinical experience, bases all activities on the professional growth pathway of the Novice to Expert continuum. Integrates current published research and literature into all learning activities. Maintains knowledge of national and local trends in clinical practice.
Continuing Education/Continued Competency: Creates, plans, implements and coordinates activities related to systematic professional learning experiences, based on needs assessments, designed to augment the knowledge, skills and attitudes of assigned staff including continuing education, in-service education, continued competence based on unit/department needs, organization initiatives/goals and policy revisions. Achieves Continuing Education Units for education for nurses and medical assistants. Monitors and reports compliance with required education.
Orientation: Assists as needed in creating, planning, implementation and coordination of orientation for individuals new to Florida Hospital Medical Group. Monitors and reports compliance with required documentation for orientation. Evaluates unit/department orientation process based on health care trends, learning needs and organizational goals.
Academic Partnership: Facilitates a supportive environment for academic partnership by ensuring appropriate student placement and a positive student experience within the unit/department.
What You Will Need:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Three to five years of experience in clinical education
Previous teaching experience in formal/informal settings
Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse
Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certification
