The Director of Security & Emergency Management will provide leadership, guidance and implementation of security operations and emergency preparedness/management for the safety and security of St. Vincent Hospital patients, visitors, associates and physicians. This role is a part of the Senior Leadership Team and manages and administers policies, procedures and technical standards related to security and emergency operations, while ensuring delivery of services, staffing, utilization of technology, and policies and procedures are prudent, cost effective and compliant with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Bachelorâ��s Degree in Business/Healthcare Administration/ law enforcement, security management, military or related discipline.
7-10 years of progressive management/leadership experience in Health Care Operations, specifically Security Management, including 5 years successful supervisory experience.
Experience in law enforcement, security management, military, emergency management, public safety or similar discipline or related experience.
Previous healthcare security and emergency management experience preferred (Working knowledge of TJC, CMS, HIPAA requirements, etc.)
Strong working knowledge of both federal and state law as it pertains to law enforcement and emergency management rules and regulations.
Proven ability to manage large scale and complex emergencies; Ability to be available 24/7 in case of emergency and periodic supervisory presence on all shifts outside of traditional working hours.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience conducting a variety of investigations.
Experience in creating and facilitating emergency exercises.
Strong project management skills (including analytical and organizational skills).
Trained in the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS).
Experience with crisis communication tools preferred.
Proven positive fiscal performance demonstrating responsibility and accountability.
Experience with Automated Security Systems, working with access control and CCTV systems.
A strong working knowledge of both federal and state law as it pertains to law enforcement rules and regulations.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Strong Project Management Skills: managing budgets, grants, and ability to prepare and present detailed reports and compliance material.
Ability to review, edit and/or create policies/standards related to the safety and security of the hospital.
Ability to work in, and at times lead, cross functional teams.
Experience working with culturally diverse populations desirable.

Professional Licensure and Certifications:
Special State Police Officer Certification Preferred
