Functions as primary administrative contact for imaging services support for Baylor Scott & White Health entities.
Develops, directs, organizes and manages the overall operations and distribution of resources (staffing, budgets, and outside vendor services) of the imaging equipment support services program for the assigned area, and/or accounts. This includes review, auditing and decision support activities related to problem diagnosis, repair, preventive maintenance and quality assurance of patient care and other assigned capital asset equipment.
Participates in the development of annual goals and objectives related to supporting the growth and development of services in response to the imaging equipment support needs of the organization.
WHAT IS EXPECTED (Essential Functions)
Reports to the VP of Healthcare Technology Management and meets with him/her at least monthly to review all matrix reporting structures, key performance indicators and progress on annual goals.
Determines proper staffing levels as needed to provide imaging support services at assigned accounts, and distributes personnel based upon preventive and corrective maintenance workloads.
Reviews productivity and efficiency work data for all staff members and identifies areas where improvements can be made which will maximize staffing resources.
Develops and implements new maintenance strategies necessary to improve service quality, reduce turnaround times, increase equipment up time and reduce costs.
Meets periodically with imaging team members to review previous work completion data, future projected scheduled work assignments, quality assurance related issues, new equipment incoming inspections, and any other projects or equipment support needs which would impact staffing and/or financial resources.
Works with imaging team members to determine training needs and recommends/implements arrangements as needed to obtain the necessary training, test equipment and tools needed to expand the areas of technical services provided by the department.
Ensures that processes are in place such that all work requests from equipment users are responded to appropriately.
Works with VP of Healthcare Technology Management and technical staff to identify needed program changes which will enhance the service and support capabilities required to support the equipment base at each assigned facility.
Participates in and/or assists with development of departmental and hospital based continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Maximizes patient safety by supporting the proper use, application and operational performance of patient care equipment.
Assists in development of imaging equipment technology plans for specific sites and/or the system in support of Baylor Scott & White Health?s strategic plan.
Participates in capital equipment committees as required; providing historical maintenance support data for existing equipment, support status for existing equipment, technical details and maintenance requirements for potential capital purchases, and identifying opportunities to combine purchases in order to maximize capital dollars.
Works on assigned projects related to development and/or review of specifications for new imaging equipment acquisition based upon approved capital equipment budgets.
Assists with coordinating and performing clinical trials on available new equipment under consideration for purchase. Participates in construction projects involving imaging equipment where appropriate, assisting with equipment planning and providing technical support for imaging equipment issues during the construction process.
Makes hiring and termination decisions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
Responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy of all imaging devices across the BSWH System.
Reviews new preventive maintenance and quality control testing procedures based upon manufacturer recommendations, available test equipment and other readily available written resources.
Ensures that the equipment inventory and other database elements are maintained and standardized according to department policy.
Attends scheduled committee meetings as assigned, and provides advice on technical support services as needed.
Develops equipment re-distribution plans in support of organization policies and procedures on equipment disposal.
Performs on-site rounds at selected areas within assigned hospital sites to meet with department managers and verify acceptable equipment performance and an acceptable level of support.
Reviews and approves content for in-service training sessions developed by imaging support staff.
Works with Biomedical Director to review the entire equipment management program at each facility annually to ensure that the program is in full compliance with JCAHO, DNV, ECRI, FDA, CLIA, State and other clinical equipment service and support standards and guidelines.
Masters degree preferred with experience in Healthcare Maintenance or Medical Equipment Service related field.
