The facility provides care to approximately 82,000 veterans in the midlands and upstate SC. CBOCs are located in Anderson, Greenville, Spartanburg, Florence, Orangeburg, Sumter, and Rock Hill, and provide primary care, mental health, and telemedicine services. Dorn VAMC is affiliated with the University of South Carolina (USC) School of Medicine and provides teaching services for students and residents. This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until June 30, 2022. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be December 16, 2021, with subsequent cut-off dates every Monday. The Nurse Manager demonstrates a high level of clinical expertise, leadership, and creative approaches to management of complex care. In addition, applies skills necessary to identify, coordinate, and/or identify discipline-specific education, as well as training in leadership, professional staff development and emerging needs, to all levels of staff. This RN is a nurse supervisor and provides oversight for, staffing, counseling and disciplinary actions. The incumbent must be poised and articulate in communicating with people of varied educational levels and varied ethnic backgrounds. Be willing to work cooperatively as a member of a team in all assignments. Also has continuing responsibility for all the following functions: Planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting priorities and preparing schedules for completion of work. Assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and the requirements of the assignments, and the capabilities of subordinates. Evaluating the performance of subordinates. Making recommendations for appointments, advancements or reassignments of subordinates. Giving advice, counsel, or instruction to subordinate personnel on work and administrative matters. Hearing and resolving complaints of subordinates and referring more serious complaints not resolved to higher level supervisors. Recommending and/or taking disciplinary action where appropriate. Identifying developmental and training needs of subordinates and providing or making provision for such development and training.
