CNM Opportunity to work with Diverse Community at Faculty Practice
Boston Medical Center
About Boston Medical Center
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a full-service academic practice and tertiary care referral group of 35 physicians, 25 CNMs, and 5 NPs. We care for approximately 3,000 births per year, embracing an interdisciplinary and collaborative model of maternity care. Representing nearly one-third of our faculty, midwives are an important voice in our clinical, educational, and research enterprises as well as our social justice and advocacy programs.
The hospital midwifery service attends approximately 900 births per year on the labor and delivery unit. Midwives also provide full-scope midwifery care to women in six neighborhood health centers, the hospital OB-GYN clinic, and our Adolescent Center to a population that is racially, ethnically and economically diverse. The CNM hospital service includes labor and delivery coverage 24 hours/day, a daily post-partum rounding service and daily coverage of our obstetrical triage unit. We work in a collaborative model with highly supportive obstetricians, perinatologists, and family medicine physicians.
