Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Research Project Manager. NYU Langone Health is a proud participant in the Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 Infection Initiative (PASC). This 4-year initiative aims to answer key research questions needed to advance our understanding of Long COVID and discover effective therapeutics to address it. The Senior Project Manager is part of the Clinical Science Core (CSC) whose purpose is to coordinate the development and implementation of master protocols and to provide expertise in clinical protocol design, implementation, and execution of large clinical research studies for the PASC consortium. This is an interdepartmental effort that includes (but is not limited to) The Office of Science and Research (OSR), Departments of Medicine, Population Health, and Medical Center IT.
The Senior Research Project Manager position is part of the Community Engagement unit of the CSC which is housed within the Department of Population Health (http://pophealth.med.nyu.edu/). The Senior Project Manager is responsible for providing a broad range of complex program management in conjunction with the MPIs, Program Director, and unit leads in all aspects of the PASC NIH funded program. The Senior Research Project Manager will be responsible for the development, promotion, direction and coordination of the Community Engagement unit, including project design, budget, staffing, logistics, and other supportive functions to ensure deliverables are met effectively, on time, and are of high quality. She/he will facilitate and have overall responsibility for the administration of assigned areas (staff on boarding process, following up with study sites, national regulatory documents, developing budgets, scheduling meetings, planning, organizing and coordinating events, training others etc.). The ideal candidate has significant research and community engagement experience and a track record of advancing complex, multi-faceted projects. She/he must be able to work autonomously with limited oversight.
Job Responsibilities:
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff, and ensure all policies and procedures are being adhered to and implemented.
- Develop study SOPs and documenting best practices.
- Develop a project management system and carry out project management tasks to ensure CSC community-engagement success.
- Oversee and facilitate all project meetings, trainings, webinars, and other events for engagement practices. Work with coordinators and project associates to coordinate times, develop agendas, distribute agendas/meeting materials, review meeting minutes, and distribute meeting notes.
- Liaise with all internal and external partners to carry out the work of the CSC community-engagement team and sustain continued engagement in project activities.
- Lead the development of recruitment and engagement materials, training materials, and curricula, for patient and community members.
- Coordinate/communicate program activities with concerned parties including vendors and users.
- Organize and lead regular project meetings to ensure completion of project activities in adherence with timeline and fidelity to the Initiatives goals.
- Coordinate project activities across multiple sites.
- Responsible for the management, generation, analysis and compiling of study progress reports, financial reports, and metrics for a wide audience, both internal and external.
- Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment and support team morale.

Minimum Qualifications:
- To qualify you must have a Master degree or equivalent in public health or related field.
- Five or more years’ experience progressively responsible related experience in community-engagement research including non-profit and government agencies.
- Demonstrated experience working with racially and ethnically diverse populations (e.g., Asian American, Black, Latinx, Native American), youth and their caregivers, and/or with other underserved populations.
- Engaging in direct supervision of a diverse team.
- Strong commitment to public health, health disparities, equity and medical ethics research.
- Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications.
- Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems; ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent editing, written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate, collaborate, and establish and maintain good working relationships with a diverse population of multi-disciplinary researchers, faculty, staff, community and patient stakeholders, and advocacy groups.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate with tact, diplomacy, flexibility, professionalism, and discretion.
- Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
- Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to Project/Program manage and to multi task while paying attention to details.
