Job Summary
Fits, adjusts, repairs, and dispenses eyewear, lenses and related accessories. Orders optical supplies. Meets the qualifications to provide attention, education, and an exceptional patient and customer experience to all Eyewear Center visitors.
Job Duties
- Guides patients and customers in choosing eyewear frames.
- Knowledgeable of various frame styles and brands.
- Informs manager of new products or suggestions for new products.
- Contacts patients and customers when order is available and provides a scheduled pick up time.
- Follows department process of contacting patients weekly or mailing the patient a letter until contact is made with patient.
- Adjusts and dispenses eyewear and lenses to patient and customer's satisfaction.
- Provides clear explanation of caring for frames and lenses.
- Checks visual acuity for all purchases.
- Explains warranty, reminds patients and customers to return to the Eyewear Center if adjustments are needed.
- Provides information regarding accessories and care of their lenses.
- Receives purchased materials from vendors and verifies charges.
- Refers to invoices, after verification of statements, to team coordinator.
- Prices new frames.
- Examines glasses that need to be repaired and discusses repair options, including any costs of repairs.
- Answers telephone in a professional manner, relaying all messages to the appropriate party in a timely fashion.
- Explains payment policy to the patient and customer.
- Receives cash payments, writes receipts, and fills out any charge sheets.
- Manually prepares cash and receipts for daily bank and charge deposits.
- Takes the deposit to the pickup area each morning.
- Takes mail to mailroom twice a day, more if needed.
- Opens mail and packages.
- Makes sure payments are processed and lenses and frames are sorted correctly.
- Maintains a proper inventory of cases, cleaning supplies, and frames.
- Communicates to the senior optician or team coordinator if something is needed regularly.
