Job Summary
Offers spiritual and emotional support directly to the patients and their families and caregivers; team members; and, as needed, to the clergy of the patients. Responsible for teaching applicable philosophies and assisting with organization of daily activities as assigned.
Job Duties
- Functions as a member of team by attending interdisciplinary team conference, support meetings, and other meetings as appropriate.
- Assesses each patient and family and caregiver for spiritual needs and concerns in consultation with other team members.
- Provides direct chaplaincy service (when accepted) to patients and their families and caregivers of different philosophies and religious perspectives.
- Consults, if requested by patient and family, the patient's clergy of choice and advises him and her on admission.
- Documents all visits and phone calls and places documentation in clinical record within an appropriate time frame.
- Provides counseling as needed and requested.
- Provides consultation, counsel, and support to other team members as appropriate.
- Assists with training programs and in-services education as requested.
- Assists with community education as applicable.

Position Details
4 Units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CEP) required
Master's in Divinity preferred
Board Certification within Association of Professional Chaplains, APC (BCCI) within two years of employment
Alternate holidays with staff chaplains
Alternate admin on-call with other staff chaplains from1700 hrs on Friday to 0800 Monday morning
Education
Master's Degree-Divinity (Required), Master's Degree-Pastoral Studies (Preferred)
Experience
Minimum of 1 year-Managerial/Supervisory (Preferred)
Certification(s) and License(s)
Ordination/Commissioning or Ecclesiastical Endorsement - Default Issuing Body
